It is proven scientifically that our bodies are electromagnetic in nature, and that both electric and magnetic energy influences the heart and muscles.  So it is thought that when the electromagnetic fields of energy in our body become unstable, they disturb its functioning and thereby we get sick.  Therefore electromagnetic therapy can restore that balance and the body can be strengthened, which would allow healing to take place. Previously, we had covered how the use of magnetic healing can help heal your body.

Electromagnetic healing is done through employing electromagnetic radiation or pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF).

Electromagnetic Healing

Background

The field of electromagnetic radiation can be traced back to the early 1900s, and Marie Curie was the one who revolutionized it. This paved a way for comprehensive research especially within the field of medicine. That is how Radiation Therapy (RT), also known as Radio Oncology or Radio Therapy emerged. During the 1970s and 80s the development of new imaging technologies led to IMRT (intensity-modulated radiation therapy) and to IGRT.

Nikola Tesla (a famous inventor) also did extensive research in electromagnetism at the turn of the 20th century and is considered the pioneer of electromagnetic therapy. His methods have been utilized in devices that were being used for therapy. They were usually huge coils of solenoid wire that were energized through an electrical system, and would be placed near the patient.

At the beginning PEMF did not gain any recognition in the USA, it was however employed by countries which then made up the Soviet Union, where it continually developed. Furthermore with time, this therapy was widely adopted by many Western European countries. Gradually it was used in North America but only on animals generally race horses with broken legs. This gave sports doctors’ reason to experiment on athletic injuries, and that is how it eventually became legal to use these devices in USA, but only for certain conditions. Though in recent years, the Cell Comm System, the Rife Machine, BioResonance Tumor Therapy and the Zapper; devices that are used for other purposes have had some commercial success.

Illnesses Treated

Radiation Therapy is used to treat a number of cancers, specifically those that are contained in one area of the body.  These include Breast, Prostrate, Cervical, head and Neck, Anal, non-small Lung and non-melanoma Skin.

While it is claimed that PEMF is used to treat a large number of illnesses, such as Diabetes, Asthma, Bronchitis, Heart disease, Cerebral Palsy, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, Nerve disorders. Simpler conditions include burns, gum infections, headaches, stress, ulcers, and depression.

How Electromagnetic Healing Takes Place

Electromagnetic radiation is a painless method and is used as:

a) An Adjuvant Therapy (given after primary therapy [usually surgery]) to control growth or to kill DNA of the cancerous cells, so that chances of survival are optimized.

b) A Palliative Therapy (given to bring relief in certain symptoms caused by cancer, such as bleeding, pain and when certain organs of the body stop functioning properly) which cannot be treated otherwise.

c) A Neo-adjuvant Therapy (given before primary therapy, so that its complexity can be decreased) and a better success rate can be achieved.

While the application of PEMF stimulates the production of nitrogen monoxide which results in improved blood supply and flow. This makes the cells oxygenated; they become cleansed, invigorated and then they multiply.  This enhances the immune system and the body’s becomes stronger. It is said to have a relaxing, pain-relieving, anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect on the patient.

In RT the type and intensity of side-effects depends upon the treatment, and the body of the patient. Acute side effects could include nausea, sores (mouth, stomach and throat), swellings and intestinal uneasiness. Usual are fatigue and skin irritation.

In PEMF only slight side-effects have been observed such as sleeplessness, irritability, loss of concentration, numbness or tingling in a low percentage of people. While how long it takes the patient to feel the benefit s of the therapy depends on the ailment they have. It could take as less as a month or go up to even a year.

PEMF to be used as a Supplementary Treatment

Ultimately PEMF stimulations have been accepted by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to be safe and successful as a supplementary treatment for:

a) Swelling in a soft-tissue injury (sprain or fracture)

b) Bone growth

c) Cervical fusion surgery

d) Long bone fracture

e) Spinal fusion surgery.

Medical Procedures it is used in

Currently electromagnetic energy in used in some standard medical procedures such as:

– When someone has a cardiac-arrest (which is caused when the heart’s electrical system does not function properly), it is needed to give the heart a shock so that a normal heart rhythm maybe achieved

– To increase bone growth, electrical currents are used.

– Some types of pain maybe relieved through using electric current generated by specific devices to strengthen the nerves.

– Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a method which makes use of a powerful magnetic field and radio waves which help in creating a detailed internal picture of the entire body. The result is far more precise and safer than that of an X-ray.

So without a doubt Electromagnetic Healing is playing a huge role in providing many therapeutic benefits to people at all levels of a medical healthcare system.
